Shiva or Mahadeva is the deity which is worshipped in Mangalnath temple. The Mangalnath temple is situated away from the bustle of the city and looks down upon a vast expanse of the Kshipra River.

The birth place of Lord MangalNath. (planet Mars), situated on Kark intersection Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Mangalnath Temple is a greatly respected holy place situated in Ujjain. 

According to Matsya Purana, Mangalnath is considered to be the birth place of Mars. The presiding deity is Lord Shiva. .A marvelous shrine located far away from the flurry of the city life, offers an unimaginable sense of tranquility to the tourists.

The temple is situated at the place where the first meridian is said to pass the earth and so this place was a renowned spot for a clear view of the planet and consequently it turned to be an apt place for astronomical studies.

Mangalnath Temple is situated away from the hustle and bustle of Ujjain and can be reached through a winding road.

BY RAIL - Ujjain is an important railway station on the Western Railway network and connected with most of the major cities in India.

BY ROAD - Good motorable roads connect Ujjain with Ahmedabad (402 km), Bhopal (183 km), Bombay (655 km), Delhi (774 km), Gwalior (451 km), Indore (53 km), Khajuraho (570 km), Mandu (158 km).
